First thing you do is remove the flower from the stem. My flower just pulled right off. The next thing you have to do is remove the little nub that is sticking out of the flower. I just cut it off with my scissors. The problem when you do this is the green bit that is holding the flower together needs to be reglued to the flower. I use the gel super glue and wait for it to dry.
Next you have to make a base for the hair clip to stick to. I just used a leaf from the stem of the flower I was using. If your flower doesn't have a leaf, use a small circle of felt. Glue it to the bottom of the flower using a glue gun or gel super glue.
Here is a picture of the front of the flower
Once the glue has dried, you can start to glue the crystals to the flower. I thought it would be pretty to have them on the yellow part of the flower, so I moved the little yellow things around so they filled in the whole flower. Then I put some glue on a scrap of paper and dumped a few crystals on the table. I probably should have put some paper down to protect the table, but I was being lazy.
Then, using a toothpick or skewer, dip the end into the glue.
Then carefully touch one of the crystals on the back and pick it up with the toothpick.
Gently place the crystal where you want it to go. Dont worry if the front of the crystal gets some glue on it, because it will dry clear. Slowly work your way around the flower until it looks like you want it to.
Once the crystals have dried, glue the hair pin to the base of the flower. I used gel super glue, but I think the hot glue gun would be better here. It took forever for the glue to dry.
When everything is dry you just have to pin it into your hair! Easy!
Obviously this will work using different flowers and different hair pins. I would like to buy some vintage flowers and add them to some hairpins. If I ever get around to it, I will be sure to post.
