Camp Themed Dinner Party For 6 to 8

And so we end the them of the week with a nice dinner inspired by- you guessed it- camp!

To start I would lay down a nice white cotton tablecloth. You can never go wrong with it.

To that I would add a centerpiece based on this inspiration:

My husband is a woodworker, so I would have him saw some branches to create different levels like picture 3. I would also have him hollow out some branches for candles like pic 4. Then I would add Spanish moss (found at any Home Depot or other craft store) and last I would add some fresh flowers. It might be nice to also add some potted maidenhair ferns or some pine cones or mushrooms.

For the place setting I would use this:

which is a bamboo disposable plate! How cool is that? They sell them here in my local grocery store, but Whole Foods should have them as well.

The napkins would be faux bois fabric like this:

and tied with some raffia or red twine.

For the menu I would go with something easy and simple (because that centerpiece will take some time!)such as

black bean chili,

Caesar salad,

cornbread, and for dessert:

smores!

If you really want to get fancy, you could put a Sterno inside a hollowed out branch in front of each person's place setting and then pass around a basket with already skewered marshmallows, fancy chocolate, and homemade graham crackers. Then let each guest toast their own marshmallow over the Sterno flame!

It may be a crazy idea for a party, but your guest will go home amazed and talk about your party for years to come.
