Last week my friend asked if my family would like to her family in Palm Springs for the Fourth of July weekend. Um, yes! I happen to adore Palm Springs because I used to go there every spring break, from the time I was born until I graduated from high school. Due to the fact Palm Springs is a retro-modern Mecca, I thought I would blog about it for the next few days until July 1st when Tales Of A Retro-Modern Housewife will begin its focus on summer pleasures like the surf, swimming holes, and summer camp.
Lets begin in the past with these amazing photographs of life in the dessert circa the 1950's and 60's:

The second picture is my favorite because I can imagine myself lounging by that pool drinking those fruity drinks. So relaxing.
