Domestic Design: Lulu Guiness

Please tell me you know about Lulu Guinness. Oh, I adore her so much. I secretly want to be her because she is just so amazingly chic. She is best known for her whimsical purses and other accessories which channel the sophistication and humor of Elsa Schiaparelli. Here are a few of my favorite designs:





As you can see, her designs are retro-modern visions of perfection.

I wondered, if her style is so timeless in her accessories, then what does her house look like? Well, I found a tour of her home from Living Etc. magazine. This British publication is my favorite when it comes to home magazines. With the demise of Domino, Living Etc. seems to be the only rag that has the perfect combination of modern and timeless design.

Isn't her house perfection? I can't tell you how inspired I am by her interior design. The thing I like the best about the house is that it is elegant and comfortable at the same time! I like that she adds touches of humor throughout the house such as the large cameo silhouette painting and kitchen tile. I have tried to bring that same sense of eclectic whimsy in my own home.
