Ahmed needs your help.

He goes by the name of Ahmed Albaity. On July 8Th,2007, Ahmed had gotten in accident that would change his life forever and left him in bed until today. As we all know if you don't have enough money medical is hard for you specially in Tanzania, and for Ahmed medical is very hard to get because he doesn't have enough money to get access to the best doctors in the world. Please I want you to take time and read his story, and if you can please help him in any way that you can, and even if by prayers that helps too. Here is Ahmed Albaity's story.

MY STORY:AHMED ABDULRAHMAN SHEIKH

On 6Th July 2007 was a wonderful and joyous day for me. My mother was flying to Abu dhabi.so she asked me to accompany her to Dar es salaam airport on 7Th July, My mother left. On Sunday 8Th July, early in the morning i left Dar and by noon, was already in Tanga. Here in Tanga we had this group known as combat riders. So i had to let my friends know that i was in Tanga. In knowing that i was around,my friends immediately organized a walk to the shores of the Indian ocean where we normally used to go for physical exercise mostly karate. So i got myself ready n straight to my friends and at exactly 5pm we were already at the beach.we went straight to Raskazone Swimming Club ready for a warm up swim.

From nowhere i had this feeling of not having a swim, and besides i was a bit tired following a long safari i had hours ago.but as u know friends always so insisting,i decided to join them and couldn't bring myself to let them down.As they say cold water can bring back unconscious to conscious.and really, water made me a whole new self again. Sometimes later we decided to dive.

Since there wasn't a bar up high from which we can dive towards the water,so we thought that one should climb over one's shoulders and take a dive from there.so i went first. I did great and so our karate teacher asked me to go for the second time so that the others would learn from me.This time i did go faster n harder than before.

Accidentally i badly hit my head to the ocean floor since we were diving into shallow water. Abruptly i felt my whole body being electrified.while still in the water and conscious i tried to swim off the water but my hands couldn't move, not knowing what to do,i again tried to move myself but my whole body including my legs failed me.that was when i realized that i was badly
hurt and couldn't save myself.

So i was lying on water face down like a floating thing.seeing me still floating, a friend of mine whose shoulders i used for diving, thought i was teasing
them so he came pulling me by the arm while telling others to get ready for their turn.seeing me not responding, one of my friend realized that i wasn't joking at all, then he came and tried to stood me up but was slippery as a fish on him.

The whole body was as if saying to him "we are being disconnected from the mind". Seeing me at that condition,he was to some extent sent aback and scared too because he knew that i was really hurt. When he turned me up ( facing him) ,voicelessly,i told him that i was badly hurt. From the tone of my voice, was clear that i wasn't okay.

From there, the rest of my friends n other people carried me out of water and hurriedly took me to Bombo hospital, one and only regional hospital here in Tanga.
On the way to the hospital i asked my friends not to mention a thing to my mother,
mostly i feared that she might not take it or being heart attacked.
At Bombo hospital, they examined me and realized that the situation was critical and therefore i had to be transferred to Muhimbili hospital(National hospital ) in Dar es salaam. On Monday afternoon i was on ma way to Dar.

It should be remembered that,at that moment, couldn't feel my body n couldn't move even a finger. In around 11 pm we were already in Muhimbili. The doctors started doing traction procedures right away.i was holed on the left n right side Of my head with heavy objects of 14 kg purposely for pulling out my neck. I stayed with those 14 kg for two weeks.

Then they removed them. I didn't expect to be hurt this bad.i had thought that ones the traction procedure had been conducted i would walk again but no. All this time mum had not been informed. When she called that is when i decided to tell her what really happened n that the whole of my body was off.( quadriplegia) my mother was really shocked and cried a lot and so my other relatives. I stayed in Muhimbili for two months without any minor recovery.

Since my family was financially weak and couldn't afford the costs ,i had to be returned to Tanga. After one month, my family got some sponsors who willingly flew me to India. The date was 1.01.2008. When i got there the doctors did neck surgery and that is when my voice came loudly as before. This really gave me hope that somehow i will be okay.but couldn't give it a hundred percent. They also succeeded to treat the bed sores that were as a result of sleeping for a long time without moving. But the rest of my body was function less.

In India i was admitted in SAIFEE hospital in Mumbai where i stayed for 24 days. From there i was, returned back to Tanzania to proceed with treatment and physical exercise(Physiotherapy), i was told to return to India after six months time but like i said before, money wise my family isn't good, so i didn't go as suggested by doctors.

As for my sponsors, they refused as they noticed that there was no any positive development on my body, others even dared to say "why should we waste our money on someone who will never be wholly again?" Back here in Tanga i got serious sick. That is when i was taken to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre(KCMC) in Moshi. Dr. Maya who is in the Orthopaedic department was the one attended me, the date was 26th August 2008. I stayed there receiving
treatment mostly on malaria and bed sores. While i was there, Dr. Maya said that there is a possibility for me to be treated and so he told me to contact Dr. Chefarzt Dogmaskopp who is in Berlin Germany in VIVANTES KLINIKUM IN FRIEDRICHSHAIN.

According to that doctor, the cost for treatment in Germany is extremely high.
As i said before, personally can't afford, so right now i have lost hope unless good summaritans volunteer to help me get the treatment required, and Insha'allah God,the almighty will bless them in whatever they touch.

All i can say to whoever reads this,i am a helpless person in everything: eating, bathing, tending myself and other physical activities. So i hope there are good caring and loving people who would love to see or hear that i have recovered completely. Your prayers are also important.

Whoever would like to help in anyway, would contact me through the email address:

How to moisturize your skin.

Whether your old or young we all want healthy good looking skin. There are so many people who forgets to take good care of their skin, because of their daily lives and I understand when your life becomes hectic and after putting your kids to bed all you want to do is relax with your hubby or boyfriend. Well summer is coming and we all want that glowing skin to show it around, here is quick way on how to get there. You can do it two or three times a week, you can do it on the weekend, it is really up to you. Enjoy

Things you need: Salt,Sugar,Olive Oil,Cup.
Warning : Do not use salt and olive oil mixture on face because it may be too harsh.Use sugar instead. Salt and olive oil mixture is for body only!

  1. Pour an equal amount of olive oil and a sugar in a cup.
  2. Mix together and then rub the mixture on your skin in circular motions
  3. Let the mixture sink into your skin by waiting a minute
  4. Wash off mixture and pat dry towel with it.
  • If you want to exfoliate and moisturize skin, use salt with olive oil.
  • Do not use salt if you have cuts on the area you are going to moisturize because salt will burn your cut.
  • The longer you leave the mixture on, the softer your skin will be, but don't leave it on for too long.
  • Try rubbing this mixture on knees and elbows and any other rough spots and your skin will feel so soft.

Dr Oz: How to Prevent a Heart Attack

Week 1: Artery Maintenance

Dr Oz said that during the first week, it is all about Artery Maintenance. Add 2 TB of Flaxseed Oil to your breakfast. For example, if you eat oatmeal, you can just mix in the flaxseed oil, which helps it loosen up blood vessels and keeps your blood from clumping together. Also, start taking 2 baby aspirin with a big glass of water (the water is key!) before bedtime. The third thing to start doing this week is 10 minutes of stretching before you leave in the morning. By stretching out your muscles, you arteries become 30% less stiff too! You can do simple stretches like leaning forward to touch your toes. Lie down on your stomach and push your body up with your head towards the sky and then roll your body down and arch your back with your butt up in the air.

Dr Oz: Week 2: Challenge Your Heart

Dr Oz said that the second week you want to get your heart rate up by doing things like climbing stairs for 7 minutes a day. Studies show that you can reduce your Heart Attack Risk by 1/3 if you get your heart rate up. Put a pedometer on if that helps to encourage you, because a pedometer will count exactly how many steps you take every day. Another option is to take a brisk walk for 20 minutes every day.

Dr Oz: Week 3: Lower Your Blood Pressure

Dr Oz said that you should add three servings of fruit to your diet to help reduce your cholesterol. Make meat the side dish at your meals and the veggie should be the entree. Dr Oz said there was a study called The China Study that found that there is a huge reduction in Heart Attack Risk in China from eating a diet like this.

Dr Oz: Week 4: Reduce Stress

Dr Oz said that you must reduce your stress this week. Pick up the phone and call someone that you care about and reconnect with people you have lost touch with. Make 2 social calls per week. Also, once a week you should have a social visit with people. The final tip to reduce stress – have sex!

Healthy Symptoms You Should Never Ignore.

When it comes to your precious little one's healthy, you would never want to ignore these signs. If your child comes to you complaining about her/his tummy or headache, then it is better to get her checked out than sayin " You ll be fine honey". A pediatrician identifies symptoms that can be warning signals for more serious health problems

Head Injuries: “Kids fall and hit their heads a lot,” says Dr. Yamashiro. “When it happens, watch for tiredness, irritability or quietness in the first 12 to 24 hours.” There is a risk of concussion or internal swelling. If you notice any of these signs or your child loses consciousness take them to a doctor right away.

Severe headaches: “We know kids as young as four can suffer from migraines,” says Dr. Yamashiro, so it’s important to get a child checked out if the pain is that intense. To check, he says to ask older children about the pain (how bad it is on a scale of 1 to 10?). Younger ones will act out or be unusually lethargic so watch their behaviour. If you given them children’s pain medication and the behaviour doesn’t change it’s time to see a doctor.
High fever: “There are three things to watch for with a fever,” says Dr. Yamashiro. First, your child’s fever doesn’t come down after she takes a lukewarm bath or you give her acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Second, your child looks feverish or is cranky, sluggish or tired. Third, her behaviour and energy levels remain poor even after there’s a drop in the fever or medication has been taken. If any of these things happen, get medical attention.
Shortness of Breath: This can be a sign of respiratory infection or asthma. For older children, it’s time for a doctor’s visit if it is difficult for them to talk or they make wheezing, gurgling or stridor-like noises. For kids who are not talking, Dr. Yamashiro says breathing fast (are the ribs are moving quickly?) and hard are signs they need attention.
Vomiting: See a doctor immediately if your child is vomiting so much she can’t stay hydrated (she’s peeing less, has dry lips or dry mouth), has abdominal pain, a severe headache or is losing consciousness, says Dr. Yamashiro. “And avoid gravol. It makes kids sleepy which can mask other symptoms.”
Diarrhea: Like vomiting, the concern here is dehydration. Kids should have an electrolyte drink (Gatorade or powerade works well) to replace salt and fluids. If that’s not working, go to a doctor. “Also get immediate attention if there is blood in the stool because that’s a sign of infection,” says Dr. Yamashiro.

Domestic violence against men

Abusive relationship doesn't fall on women only. Every 34 second in america men are being beaten, kicked, spit on by their female partners. Love doesnt have to hurt nor pain. Hitting someone doesnt mean you love them,I dont believe in hitting of a man or a woman. We have been hearing alot of domestic violence on women but never on men. When it comes to violence there is no difference, being abused by somebody you love and trust can be confusing and bewildering. The emotions you feel as a result are going to be similar whether you are male or female, however it can be harder for men to cope with the emotional impact of domestic abuse, because society doesn't see or view women as man beater. In reality, men get beaten, thrown down the stairs and cant do nothing because women have more power. A relationship should not be lived in fear.Nobody should be degraded like that, Verbal and physical abuse is the biggest sign of disrespect to your partner even worse than cheating. When you hit your partner and say you love em, thats not LOVE thats abusive. Dont tell your parner your going to change because of them, you have to change for your own self. If you are an adult you should be mature enough not to result in violence. It solves nothing ,the anger and violence end up controlling you, not u controlling the emotion or action. If u cant controll ur anger then u need to get help otherwise u are just going to end up alone and angry or worse having the crap kicked out of u cause not everyone is a doormatt. There are people who will hit back and some wont stop either.Always remember there is someone bigger or stronger than you and you just might pick the wrong person to mess with. Only if someone is attacking you should you defend yourself. But yeah keep ur hands to yourself . LOVE DOESNT HAVE TO HURT.

Eight Ways to Detox Your Mind, Body and Home

Are you stressed, sluggish and sallow of skin? Did you miss your January detox?

1. Create a Tranquil Environment
Unplug the TV, phone and turn off the Blackberry. If this is too unrealistic, at least consider reducing the harmful radiation emitted from electrical equipment in your home or office with plants. Placing plants such as Boston ferns or Peace Lillies near televisions, computers and microwaves are all ways to help absorb radiation in the home.

2. What to Eat & Drink
Start the day with fresh seasonal and organic fruit for breakfast. To drink, sip some hot water and lemon juice or detox tea (Pukka). For lunch, try a light green salad with protein and fibre rich pulses and seeds or opt for a warming homemade soup. At dinner, keep the nutrients locked in your food by lightly steaming vegetables with quinoa (similar to rice or couscous but packed with protein). Remember to also drink lots of water throughout the day to flush toxins from your system.

3. Breathing
Aim to do 10 deep breaths at the start of each day to calm the mind and improve blood circulation and brain function. Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale completely through the mouth.

4. Exercise
Raise a sweat by either walking briskly outdoors or taking a yoga class. Try Bikram yoga, a form of yoga that usually takes place in a studio with extra heating to encourage profuse sweating. Great for eliminating toxins and improving flexibility!

5. Meditate
Repeating mantras and affirmations or practicing visualisations are effective ways to start meditating daily. You can try visualisations where you see a coloured light filling your body or transport yourself to your own utopia: a sun drenched beach, peaceful mountain top or any other place that symbolises relaxation to you.

6. Improve Circulation
Make skin glow with daily body brushing. Use a loofah or body brush and make long sweeping strokes all over the body, always brushing towards the heart.

7. Salt Bath
In ‘Feng Shui Your Life’, author Jayme Barrett explains how salt has the ability to ‘disintegrate negativity, cleanse your energy field, and increase the energy circulation in all of your chakras.’ Run a bath and add 2-4 cups of sea salt (and your favourite essential oil such as lavender) and the water will absorb ‘dirty energy, and the salt immediately breaks down negative physical, emotional, and mental residue’ continues Jayme. If you don’t have a bath, make a salt exfoliating scrub for the shower with salt, sweet almond oil and lavender or lemon essential oil.

8. Detox the Ego
Read Echkart Tolle’s the ‘Power of Now’ and ‘A New Earth’ to learn how to achieve inner peace by disengaging from your mind and ego. Other inspiring books to help your holistic health include, ‘Quantum Wellness’ by Kathy Freston and ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay.
