Golden Globes Dress Love

Last night was the Golden Globes, and I usually don't a fashion recap of awards shows. I normally go to project rungay and let those bitches tell me what they think of the dresses. But this time I find myself really disagreeing with them, so I thought I would do my own recap and see if you ladies agree or disagree with my assessment. So here it goes:

Dresses I Love:

Look, we all know Nicole is way too skinny. But guess what? She looks amazing in clothing. And that dress is stunning. And the hair! Perfection. This was my top look of the night.

This was my second favorite. I thought she looks positively glowing. Look, Christina is a big girl with the biggest boobs ever. Not easy to dress. But I think she looks just like a red headed Marilyn Monroe. And I like the fact she doesn't try to hide her curves. So I give her a big 'in'.

I also thought Tony looked amazing in this beaded number. It is just so retro glamorous. Love it!

Dresses I Liked:

I was as surprised as anyone that Christina really brought it to the red carpet. I mean she is usually so slutty, but this dress is elegant with only a hit of tacky (the boobage) and it fits her like a glove. I like it better on her then on the model! And Christina is seriously like 5'1" or something. She is TINY. So it is difficult for her to pull of a large dress. But this one is perfect in its proportions. And the hair! Between the new Anthro catalogue and Christina's hair, I am seriously considering a bob for the summer.

I liked that she brought some high fashion to the red carpet. The dress is interesting and fun, and I think it looks good on her. But what is the deal with no necklaces on these women. For years the look has been no necklaces and I am so tired of it.

Normally I don't like what Cameron wears. She is just a little too kooky for my taste. But this dress looks lovely on her, and if it hadn't been raining, I bet the slight train would have really helped balance the drapey neckline, which I love.

Love the color. Like the ruffles. Like that it is somewhat 'different'. But I still say a necklace and earrings would have helped.

Not So Much With The Likey:

The boys on Project Rungay refer to this dress as the 'hedgehog dress', and I have to concur. Not loving the hip placement of the hedgehog, but she gets props for going out on a limb. Hair and makeup- perfection.

No. Just no. Dont like the neckline- it was much better in the original. Dont love the hair. Dont love the makeup. *sigh*. I do wish she would wear ice blue. I think it would be stunning on her.

I can't decide if I love this dress or hate it. But Chole loves to wear dresses that make you think- so props to her for that. She is wearing the hell out of a dress that could have made her look like a 1970's bridesmaid. But the color is just soooo dowdy. In costume design we learned that old ladies always wear mauve- never the starlet. Why? Because mauve makes you look old. Seriously. Start looking. It looks great on older ladies, and dated on the youth.

Love the dress, shoes, makeup and hair. So why is on my 'not so much' list? Because I hate it on her. Sorry, but she is just too old for this look. And for cripes sake, would a necklace have killed her? The neckline is screaming for one!!!!!

Oh Emily why? Why? You are such a beautiful girl, and I love you so much. But please, do SOMETHING with your hair. That dress was lovely, but who could tell because you looked like you woke up from a nap and got in the limo. So please, at the Academy Awards, please bring it. I am crossing my fingers for you.
