Le Labo: Santal 33

I have been wearing Santal 26 from Le Labo for almost two years now and still love it.  I have never had more people, both men and women, ask me what I'm wearing and tell me that I smell good.  As an interior designer, I get a kick out of telling that it's technically a room spray. Apparently, I wasn't the only one wearing this unique scent because they have just come out with the perfume version, Santal 33.  I am glad I was to test the new fragrance before my cold left me unable to breathe or smell.  It seems a bit spicier and a little more masculine which seems fitting since the description mentions the Marlboro Man.  My bottle of Santal 26 is just about empty and I still haven't decided if I'll switch over yet.  There is something about the room spray as perfume that not only smells great but makes me smile!

My December 2010 / January 2011 Favorite perfumes

So, i have always wanted to show you guys my favorite perfumes of  2010, but then i realized that my favorites didnt really change this year! I know its still the begining of the year, but im not the type that likes changing favorite stuff! especially perfumes, i like sticking to the ones im used to.

But, at the end of 2010 i did get new perfumes that i never got before and now im listing them as my favorites because i am absolutely in love with them <3

So, let's ago ahead and start!

I'm starting off with this one, which is an arabic perfume that i've had for really really long time, and i use it rarely! And now it's kind of finishing but i am deffo intending on getting a new one (if i find a store that sell it) .. anyways,

My mum gave me this perfume just to keep it on my handbag for emergency! lol , and i fell in love with it, and now im scared of finishing it,

It's called : Sultan White

This next one is also a perfume that i have had since like, forever!! and i regularly keep buying it. I am not a big fan of it's smell but it seems to stay in clothes and good for like everyday use for school, or work !

The name of it is : It's delicious, and it's extremely cheap and available like everywhere!

I am into really flowery kind of smells right now, so this next one should be like the number one of the list, This is flowerbomb by Victor and Rolf, and i am amazed by it! I will deffinetly get this one once again, because i kind of over used it for school, and it finished :( sadly!

I am in love with the packaging it's super cute <3 I have blogged about this one before!

Versace perfumes have always been a hit for me! and this next one is a one that i recently started using, and im already loving it <3 ..

This is White Crystal by Versace, and it has this amaizng flowery kind of smell, but not that flowery! and the smell is cold and amazing for like anything <3

Time for Nina Ricci ..

The first time i smellt this perfume was with a friend of mine, and i loved it so i thought i would buy it for myself, time then went by! and i totally forgot about it, then on a Dubai trip, i bought it with a really good price <3

This is called Ricci Ricci by Nina Ricci, and it's like my favorite perfume of all time <3 this is another one that i should buy once more !

This one is by    and i wear it very very rarely, just on occasions. It's not that strong so don't get the wrong idea, i just dont find it good for everyday, but I thought it is good enough to be on my favorites list.

this one's called Incanto bliss by Salvatore Ferragamo
I love salvatore Ferragamo, i love their handbags too <3 and sunglasses.

So these are my December/January favorites, I do have other perfumes that i find really great, and i will do a simple post about those at a later date :)

So, for now,

Love, Chloé

My friend Jessica and I are excited that fashion is moving away from the awful eighties and back to the seductive seventies and Chloé is doing it better than anyone! They just launched their new fragrance Love, Chloé in Paris at the chic restaurant Apicius which they even redecorated with seventies furniture. The pièce de résistance though was model and face of the fragrance Raquel Zimmermann driving up to the party in a gold Mercedes convertible with Roman Coppola. He directed the ridiculously chic commercial that will start airing this fall in which Raquel drives the same convertible and prances around Paris looking like a modern day Lisa Taylor. You have to check out the party video online that gives you a glimpse. Chloé has already inspired me to start growing out my hair. Now all I need is that darn Mercedes!

Chic Scents by Le Labo

I've worn the same two perfumes for years, Narciso Rodriguez in the winter and Calypso Mimosa in the summer. Recently, I felt like I needed a change and I knew just where to go, Le Labo. Every time I walked by their counter at Barneys I kept smelling the most delicious scents so I knew I would find something I loved and that no one else would be wearing. I chose Santal 26 which is actually one of their interior sprays. I joked with the salesman that if anyone came up to me said, "hey, you smell like my room spray," I was going to bring it back but he assured me that a lot of people buy them and wear them as perfume.

My other favorite is Ambrette 9 which is a baby perfume that smells nothing like baby powder but is actually light and fresh. All of their scents have a mysterious and sexy quality, probably because they are French. They also make perfumes that are exclusive to certain cities and I can't wait to hit Colette in Paris and check out the Vanille 44. I think it might be coming home with me. I hear men respond well to vanilla and I need all the help I can get! Oh la la!

New Organic Perfumes from Honoré des Prés

I get so excited when I hear about a new organic perfume line. I think many women, no matter how green they are, still want a little spritz or splash before leaving their house of some heavenly aroma that captures a bit of their personality or even the persona of who they want to be for that day or evening.

Thankfully green girls now have Honoré des Prés to add a little decadence to their organic lives. This new range of French perfumes launched in Paris in November last year and is now available in America. You can choose from 5 alluring scents which are all natural, with 85% certified organic ingredients (Ecocert). Truly organic and truly French! What could be better? Green girls have it good right now.

Here is what you won't find in Honoré des Prés perfumes:
  • no petrochemicals
  • no synthetic perfumes
  • no colouring agents
  • no phthalates
  • no animal testing
  • no 'ingredients of animal origin'
The only difficulty with perfumes is trying to find the perfect scent for you, which can be challenging when shopping online. I've tried to describe the type of girl that each perfume may appeal to and hopefully the lists of top note ingredients will also help guide you. It also helps to learn that renowned French perfumer, Olivia Giacobetti (from Diptyque, pictured at the end) has signed her name to the perfumes.

Honoré des Prés perfumes are ideal for perfume lovers, organic mavens and women who may be asthmatic, pregnant or nursing.

Sexy Angelic
This will probably be the most popular scent because it is more full bodied and has a lovely touch of marzipan sweetness and a slight scent of cherries (which isn't in the ingredients but it reminds me of cherry pie somehow!).

Top notes: a 'hint of freshly baked Calisson marzipan candy from Aix-en-Provence', hemlock flower and Angelica seed
For the girl that loves: mingling, socialising and being the belle of the ball!
Style: flirtatious and daringly short dresses and skirts, only wears heels (not afraid to be different)
Travel destination: Paris

Honore's Trip
This citrus zesty frenzy is my favourite and smells just like fresh lime and orange zests. It has an orange intensity that is perfect for spring / summer!

Top notes: pure tangerine extracts, green limes, Mediterranean oranges and Philippine pepper
For the girl that loves: the cafe scene, beach holidays, the outdoors and adventure
Style: casual in jeans and a singlet with a fabulous pair of sunglasses
Travel destination: Barcelona

Nu Green

Another one of my favourites because it has a minty lightness and smells like the popular perfumes you are used to, except this one is a lot better for you!

Top notes: green mint leaves, tarragon, Indian musk and cedar wood
For the girl that loves: that loves nature and living an organic lifestyle
Style: Gorgeous organic and fair trade clothes
Travel destination: California

Chaman's Party
This scent transports you to an exotic Moroccan bazaar with rich and spicy scents permeating the air.

Top notes: Haitian vetiver, Egyptian basil, dried clove flowers from Madagascar
For the girl that loves: Mystery and travelling the world in first class
Style: designer, influenced by Catherine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman
Travel destination: Casablanca

Bronte's Bloom
Bronte's Bloom does indeed conjure up images of the Bronte sisters running along the Moors, searching for wild and wonderful flowers (and Heathcliff).

Top notes: wild Moroccan blue chamomile, Paraguayan citrus fruit leaves, south Indian wild flowers and iris butter
For the girl that loves: gardens and picnics in the park
Style: Floral prints and dresses
Travel destination: the English countryside

Organic Perfume by Jo Wood Organics

Are you looking for an alluring and luxurious perfume that is also certified organic? Jo Wood Organics offers two tantalising eau de toilettes to suit any woman’s style, personality or mood.

Amka, meaning ‘to wake’ in Swahili is feminine yet bold with organic essential oils of Iranian rose otto and Egyptian jasmine, top notes of neroli and bergamot and a base of cedarwood. This is a delicate yet daring perfume, perfect for those girly girls who love wearing heels and dresses but also know how to do karate.

I particularly love Usiku, meaning ‘night’ in Swahili which is earthy and has a spicy and fiery ginger aroma with top notes of rosemary and pine needle and a base of patchouli and Moroccan cedarwood. This is a natural and exotic perfume, ideal for sophisticated hippies.

These beautifully packaged 95% certified organic eau de toilettes (Ecocert) are available at Fenwick, House of Fraser and John Lewis.
