Review - Dr. Alkaitis Organic Universal Mask

This luxury organic face mask is a definite treat for those wishing to splurge on a fabulous and effective skincare product. Research scientist, Dr. Alkaitis has sourced the very best 'organic, biodynamic and ethically wild-crafted ingredients' to deliver a skin nourishing mask that 'soothes, calms and rejuvenates sensitive, irritated and inflamed skin'.

Now lets be honest, once you apply the green mask, you will resemble a sea creature that has just emerged from an algae-filled lagoon. But being called 'Nessie' for 20 minutes is totally worth it if you want your skin to enjoy the benefits of ingredients such as spirulina, carrots, ginger, amaranth, ainu-wakame and other equally weird, wonderful and nutritious ingredients you know you really should be eating as well as applying to your face.

As Dr. Alkaitis explains on their site, this is 'therapeutic skin food'. After all, if the skin absorbs up to 60% of what is put on it, then my goodness, this Organic Universal Mask must be like a trip to Disneyworld for the skin! The mask did feel incredibly fantastic to use. It was not unlike plunging your head into one of those green, spirulina / algae infused health drinks but without the mess or loss of dignity. The skin really felt like it was feasting on a banquet of ingredients it had not been treated to for a long time, if ever.

How to Mix and Apply
Only a small amount is needed, one teaspoon of powdered mask combined with one teaspoon of water to form a paste. Leave on for 10-20 minutes before removing with a damp cloth or warm water. You can also add organic honey (raw if possible) to the mask for 'rejuvenation and hydration'. Regularly spritzing the face and keeping the mask moist is also recommended as it enlivens the ingredients so that the skin fully absorbs their nutrients.

What's In The Mask?
Oat Buds*, Organic Grass Juice Complex (Kamut Grass*. Alfalfa*, Oat Grass* and Wheat Grass*), Sea Vegetable Complex (Chlorella°, Dulse°, Spirulina°, Ainu-Wakame*, Sea Palm° and Red Algae°), Goat’s Milk Protein*. Vegetable Complex (Carrots*, Cabbage, Sweet Potato*, Kale*, Broccoli*, Asparagus, Brussels Sprouts, Cucumber, Ginger*, Onions, Cauliflower, Beets*, Tomatoes* and Parsley*). Organic Seed Complex (Pumpkin*, Sesame*, Amaranth*, Flax*, Soy*, Oats*, Rye*, Buckwheat*, Millet*, Barley*, Brown Rice*, and Sunflower*).

* - Signifies certified organically grown
° - Signifies ethically wild-crafted

Review - Raw Gaia's Raw Chocolate Face Pack

The perfect mask for Easter! With scrumptious raw chocolate powder, this organic and raw face mask is an antioxidant laden, super nourishing product that will thoroughly cleanse the skin, lure out toxins and impurities and leave you with a glowing complexion!

Raw Gaia only use '100% organic, living and vegan ingredients' and do not exceed temperatures above 40°C when creating their products. This ensures ingredients retain their goodness and work more effectively on your skin.

Raw Gaia explain that raw chocolate powder has the 'highest known source of antioxidants in the world'. But before you reach for a bar of chocolate under the guise of 'it's for my daily antioxidant hit' you should know that raw chocolate powder contains '367% more antioxidants than its cooked version'. Darn! But at least you have a guilt free chocolate face pack to use now!

How to use: Mix 1tsp of powder with water to form a thick paste. Leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off.

Feel on skin: My face felt incredibly taught, almost like you could feel the nasty impurities being drawn out.

Scent: Pure chocolatey goodness! Nothing better!

Skin types: All

Results:
Skin feels deeply cleansed and has a glowing complexion. Skin also feels firm and tight in a 'natural face lift' kind of way. I even appeared to have a slight tan. Bonus!

Value for money: Yes. The cost is just under £10 and considering the quality and purity of the ingredients coupled with the fact you would only use it once or twice a week, it is great value for money. It's a lovely and necessary treat for the face.

Who would like it? Who wouldn't like it? Doesn't the whole world like chocolate? Okay, maybe not but the scent is satisfying enough for chocoholics and subtle enough for those not fussed either way.

Would I buy it again? For sure. This Raw Chocolate Face Pack does its job very well. Thanks to the red clay, turmeric and amla ingredients, the pack thoroughly cleanses the skin and evens out your complexion, leaving it looking ultra healthy and radiant.

Score:
9/10 (as you need to mix it in a separate container to achieve the right consistency).

Full Ingredient List
Organic raw chocolate powder, sun-dried red clay, organic turmeric powder, organic amla fruit powder.

Purchase online at Raw Gaia for £9.90
