I've been busy working all day and also preparing for a client meeting so there was no time to write up a post. Check back tomorrow for more coverage of the Traditional Home Hampton Designer Showhouse. Wish I was at my favorite beach in Southampton right now! Sigh. Ok, back to work!

Back Soon!
I've been busy working all day and also preparing for a client meeting so there was no time to write up a post. Check back tomorrow for more coverage of the Traditional Home Hampton Designer Showhouse. Wish I was at my favorite beach in Southampton right now! Sigh. Ok, back to work!
Etsy Find: Funny Little Dolls
I was 'window shopping' on Etsy and found these funny little dolls that someone dressed in crepe paper. How delightful are they? I think I like the turquoise one the best (go figure), but I also really like the yellow one. I would buy them, but with the move coming up, I am afraid they would just get lost. So I wanted to give you, my dear readers, a chance to purchase your very own vintage 50's doll.

Blog Love: House Of Turquoise
I thought I would try to have a regular feature here at Tales of a retro-modern housewife where I bring you blogs you might not have heard of before. Some will be vintage inspired, but because I figure you all have those pretty well figured out, most will be blogs that inspire me- but not neccessarily in a vintage way. So for my first blog I bring you House Of Turquoise- a blog dedicated to the color turquoise as it is used in interior design. I happen to adore the color turquoise, so when I found this blog I spent hours searching through the archives.

Aren't those amazing photographs? She also has blogs dedicated to other colors like purple, blue and green, and black and white. So go check it out and let me know if you enjoy her blog.

Glamorous Eccentric: Isabella Blow

Isabella Blow could be considered the most eccentric tortured soul in all of modern fashion. Famous for being the muse to both Philip Treacy and Alexander McQueen, Isabella was blessed with an innate passion for the fashion industry, as well as deep insecurities about her own looks. I found this article written after her untimely death, and I feel it says everything I could possibly say, only a million times better. So please, read the entire article, because if you have heard of Isabella Blow, this article will enhance your love for her (for if you know her you must love her) and if you have never been properly introduced to Ms. Blow, then let this article be your introduction.
