Juzi - Necklaces, bracelets and more! All made from recycled magazines!

Juzi's new exciting range of brightly coloured and versatile beads meet the style and eco criteria of every green girl. Made from recycled magazines and handcrafted by a co-operative in Kisumu, Western Kenya (Juzi aim to help the co-operative 'attain Fair Trade accreditation over the forthcoming year'), Juzi accessories are a must-have item for injecting a little fun, edge and ethics into your wardrobe!

I'm not sure about you but ever since I 'turned green', I've noticed that I seem to revel in providing friends and sometimes strangers with mini biographies about the eco fashion I am wearing. Far from being bored by tales of where my clothing came from, who made it and what it's made of, I've found that people always seem to share the same level of awe and interest as me (and then they either try to take what I have or at least ask where they can get their paws on said item).

I've been impressing friends lately with my newest discovery: fashion accessories made from recycled magazines and bottle tops! Creative girls are going to love these! You can wear the varying lengths and colours as necklaces, bracelets, belts...the choice is yours! I'm personally favouring the head dress look (which is a popular look right now, think Diane von Furstenberg '09) which I will wear during the summer. I don't think I could pull it off during this cooler weather but come the balmy summer months, it will look so good with a great organic maxi dress! Very 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' meets Ophelia meets Woodstock!

The Juzi range features several styles of beads to suit everyone. The Flava has a vibrant melange of beautiful deep colours and beads ranging from the 160cm size (image above £18) to the Flava XL's mighty 280cm / 9ft 2in (see image of girl with belt below - £22).

The Aloe range features chunkier and more muted earth tones of yellow, tans and blues (although colour can vary slightly depending on magazine colours used). I really love the bold statement Aloe B bracelet which could be slipped onto go perfectly with any outfit (£10, pictured above). I also love the Aloe necklace (£17) with its adjustable loop which solves any necklace conundrum as it allows you to alter the necklace length to suit the neckline of whatever top you have on. Do check out the Ozoroa and Molle designs too which are equally unique and special. The Ozoroa features quirky styles made from recycled bottle tops and magazine beads.

The necklace options are numerous, wear them hanging long, layer for a stronger look, knot it or combine with another style of necklace for eclectic eco decadence! Don't worry if you don't feel creative enough to transform your Juzi beads into some clever clothing embellishment, you can also keep it simple and wear your beads as is (necklace or bracelet) and you will still look very eco chic!

I've been flaunting the Flava XL necklace of late (see it above) and have been amazed not only by its beauty but also by the high quality of how well made it is. You could get lost just studying the intricacy and detail in each bead, marvelling at what they are made from and thinking about the people making them in Kenya. Oh, I do love the goodness behind eco fashion!
