The Best Organic Vegan Chocolate - Plamil

Why is it we like to make things difficult for ourselves? Why I decided to give up milk chocolate a few months before Easter, I'll never know but after reading several in-depth articles on milk, I decided to step away from the dairy milk chocolate once and for all (which was organic by the way and this was one way I justified eating copious amounts of it).

So Easter arrived and I did a sterling job passing windows filled with gigantic chocolate rabbits and shops stacked with soccer sized chocolate eggs. I was fully prepared to clutch tightly onto my Raw Gaia Raw Chocolate Face Pack over the course of the weekend and just hope for the best. Fortunately, I discovered a vegan chocolate that tastes exactly like chocolate. And it's just as well because I'm not sure I would be a very nice person without a bit of chocolate in my life!

Plamil's chocolate is free from dairy, gluten, nuts and non-GMO (there are also no added sugar bars available). Even Plamil's factory is a 'no nut zone'. Wow, if ever there were an allergy convention in town, you would definitely want Plamil catering the event. No one would have to scan the ingredient list and they could just focus on enjoying the divine taste of their delicious chocolate instead.

Choose from organic flavours such as Ginger, Mint, Dairy Free Milk (fair trade) or Dark chocolate. I've been befriending the Orange bar lately (which surprised me as I thought I wasn't one for flavoured chocolate but this one is rather incredible). The Orange chocolate is subtle yet special and what I love about Plamil chocolate, and I'm sure most girls will too, is that the flavour is so intense and satisfying that you find yourself not needing to eat as much chocolate as you usually would. I just saw on the website that there is also intriguing flavours like Chocolate with Cranberries, Cayenne or a new Rum and Raisin chocolate. Vegans have never had it so good!

Plamil have been making organic chocolate for more than 10 years and they source their cocoa from a farming co-operative in the Dominican Republic. Every eco certifying body is clamouring to place their stamp of approval on Plamil chocolate (Soil Association, Vegetarian and Vegan Societies). If I had a Green Lashes and Fashion stamp I'm sure I would definitely do the same! Did I mention their nut free factory also uses 100% renewable energy? Jeesh, talk about making other chocolate brands feel inferior. I'm not sure how you cocoa but at Plamil you will find there is a cocoa content, bar size and flavour that will surely meet your chocolate desires.

Purchase online at Plamil Foods UK for £1.99 (100g) or £1.29 (50g) or find Plamil in all good health food stores.
