Awesome or Hideous

Ladies, I need your help. As I have mentioned in the past, my husband and I are building our dream home and we are almost finished! I am picking out light fixtures, and I have come to a dead end in the bedroom (which is never a good thing). The look in the bedroom is sort of like this:



With this wallpaper on all four walls:



The floors are going to be stained a dark blue and the bookshelves and trim are white.

Here is the bed, only in white:



So the look is a very tropical, fun, colorful, with lots of white bedroom. We have the peaked ceiling like in the first picture, so the light fixture hangs from the center of the room.

Ok, here is my question: Is this light fixture awesome or hideous for the room. I like the idea of a shell light to go with the whole tropical theme, but shell fixtures can be way over the top sometimes. I like a touch of kitsch, but I cant tell if this light is just plain ugly, or totally awesome. (I am looking at the one in all white).
